SubSmith is a subtitle timing tool for game developers: time dialogue on a visual timeline, check reading speed (CPS) against broadcast conventions, preview subtitles with karaoke and typewriter effects, manage speakers, and export SRT, WebVTT, ASS, JSON, Godot 4 and Unity subtitle players. 100% offline.

Edit on the visual timeline — import CSV/TXT/JSON/SRT/VTT/ASS, drag blocks and edges, drag-to-place untimed cues, per-cue in/out editing. The CPS/readability engine checks against Netflix conventions (20 CPS adult max, 17 standard / 13 kids, 42 chars/line, 1–7s durations, auto-split). Preview live with karaoke, typewriter, and plain effects, speaker plates, and safe-area guides, and manage speakers with colors and rename.

The free demo includes the timeline editor with demo limits (10 cues max; SRT/WebVTT export only).

The full SubSmith Pro ($9.99 one-time): https://theluckyduck666.itch.io/subsmith-pro — unlimited cues and all exporters (ASS, JSON, Godot 4 GDScript subtitle player, Unity C# subtitle player).
