PixelSmith
PixelSmith is a pixel art editor for game developers: draw sprites with layers, onion-skin animation, dithering brushes, symmetry, palette tools, and animated GIF + sprite-sheet export. A true aseprite alternative that runs 100% offline.
Draw with pixel-perfect tools (pencil, eraser, bucket, line, rectangle, ellipse) plus ordered Bayer dithering brushes and H/V/quad symmetry. Animate on the cel timeline with per-frame duration, onion skin, playback, and named tags. Manage palettes (JASC .pal / GIMP .gpl import-export, palette extraction, indexed mode), preview 3×3 tile mode, and round-trip with Aseprite via PNG+JSON.
The free demo includes the full editor with demo limits (64×64 canvas max, 4 layers, 8 frames, PNG watermarked, GIF and sprite-sheet export locked, right-click erase gated).
The full PixelSmith Pro ($9.99 one-time): https://theluckyduck666.itch.io/pixelsmith-pro — 512 canvas, 8+ layers, unlimited frames, GIF + sprite-sheet export, right-click erase, no watermark.
